Does it matter where on the contralateral side the reference electrode is placed?

For example when using the Stimpod on the right upper extremity I have been putting the reference electrode on the left biceps. This causes some muscle contractions in the left biceps which has not been a problem other that possibly distracting the patient from what is happening on the right. I wonder if it would be better if I placed the reference electrode on a more bony area that didn’t cause muscle contractions. Any thoughts?
